Foothill athletes help Coastal Zone teams win gold in the 10th Grade & Under division as well as silver and bronze in the 8th Grade & Under bracket!
The Coastal 10th Grade & Under Red team, featuring Stephen Cagle, Matthew Maier, Austin Stewart, Adam Ward and Ty Williams, dominated the Southern Pacific Zone (Orange County) to win the ODP Championships for the first time at their age level. In the 9-5 win, Foothill athletes tallied 5 of their teams goals! Following the Championship, Matthew Maier was named to the All-Tournament Team, tabbed as one of the top defender in the Olympic Development Program at his age level! Stephen Cagle and Austin Stewart were announced as invitees to the 10th Grade & Under National Team Selection Camp, with Matthew Maier earning an invitation to the 12th Grade & Under NTSC (as a 9th Grader!).
The Coastal 8th Grade & Under Red Team, lead by starters Chase Travisano and Bruno Snow, rallied from a 5-1 deficit to pull within one, but were unable to overcome a physical Southern Pacific team and claimed 2nd place. The Coastal White team finished a fantastic weekend with Joseph Galgani sealing a Bronze Medal with his 4th quarter goal in a win over the Central Zone. The Coastal Blue team and Dillon Mannion had an admirable weekend as well, finishing the tournament with three dominant wins to take 9th after a close initial loss to the Pacific Zone team. Travisano was named to the All-Tournament team as the top Left-handed Attacker in his age level as well as getting an invitation to the 8th Grade & Under NTSC!
