Alex Rodriguez is the Head Coach of Pomona-Pitzer College Men’s and Women’s Water Polo. He has guided the Sagehen’s to 16 SCIAC Conference Championships (9 women and 7 men). His 1st SCIAC championship on the men’s side was Pomona-Pitzer Colleges first in 28 years.

He previously served as the assistant coach to our USA Men’s Senior National Team and coached at the 2016 Rio Olympics. He has also served as the head coach for our USA Men’s Youth Team from 2014-2016. He also took a team to Istanbul for Youth World’s Championships in 2014, won Gold at 2014 Youth UANA championships in Riverside, beating Brazil in the finals and took a team to Montenegro for Youth World’s Championship in 2016.

Coach Rodriguez is currently the Technical Director of Foothill Club. He started Foothill Club in 2005 with John Ashby and has grown into one of the biggest clubs in the country. They have won medals at 10u coed, 12,u boys, 14u boys, 16u boys and 12u girls. Foothill Club has produced over 90 college players and 20 college coaches.

Prior to his position with Pomona-Pitzer, he was at Pepperdine University, where he served as Assistant Coach for the Men’s Water Polo program since 2002. Rodriguez is a former All-American player at Pepperdine and was a member of the Waves’ National Championship team in 1997. Coach Rodriguez earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History from Pepperdine University and is currently completing his Master’s Degree in Physical Education.

He is married to his beautiful wife, Kristin Rodriguez (the better coach in the family) and they have a son, Austin, and two daughters, Addison and Charlotte.
