Jim Armstrong

18 & Under Boys Black

Coach Armstrong is in his 4th season with Foothill Club after coaching both 18&16 boys. Most recently Jim has been the head coach of the 18&U Boys Black team, Coach Armstrong began his career in water polo at Brea Olinda High School where he built a long dormant program into a mainstay in the Orange County top 10by winning 12 Orange league Championships. Due to his tremendous success Coach Armstrong was able to continue on to coach at the Orange County Chapter of the powerful Trojan Water Polo Club which was later renamed East WPC. While at east he coached 31 player who continued their careers at several division 1 universities, including his most well known athlete, Alex Rodriguez.

Before coming to Foothill Club Coach Armstrong was a Co-Head coach at Pomona Pitzer College from 1995-2002 during which time the Sagehens defeated their rival CMS Stags for the first time since 1981, thus making the Sagehens the number 1 seed for SCIAC championships and qualifying them for the WWPA Tournament for the first time in Sagehen history.

Coach Armstrong is an insurance broker and lives in Upland, he has three children and is an avid golfer with a single digit handicap. His current goal is to qualify for the US Senior Amateur Championships.
