Josh Thomasson grew up playing water polo in Chino Hills, CA. His career started at Ayala when he decided that he wanted to pick up another sport to play in High School. After quickly falling in love with the sport, Josh began playing club locally for CHAWP (16U) and later FCWP (18U). Throughout high school water polo, Josh earned All-League First team honors and All-CIF honors twice (2008 & 2009). Josh played for FCWP founder Alex Rodriguez and under his guidance decided to pursue water polo collegiately at Claremont McKenna College. At CMC, Josh helped lead the Stags to four straight conference championship games (SCIAC), and won two of them. Today, Josh enjoys coaching the 16U Red team at FCWP while also serving as Head Coach of Damien High School during the fall.

When asked what are the most important skills for your athletes to develop? Josh says:
“I believe that proper game awareness and body positioning is critical to develop high-caliber athletes. Also, a love for the game is important as well!”

In his free time, Josh enjoys attending Angels games and likes pretty much anything sports-related.
